How is our data stored?
All data is stored on your machines and in your databases. We don’t handle any of your data. SQL Spreads does not store any data outside of your local network.
How is security handled?
SQL Spreads relies on SQL Server and Windows security and does not have its own mechanism to handle security to connect to the database.
Is it safe to let end users update data in SQL Server?
SQL Spreads provides a separate role for end users that locks down the setup of the Excel document, ensuring they can only update the databases, tables, columns, and rows you allow. The Change Tracking feature allows you to see who has made changes to the data. For a full audit of changes, SQL Spreads supports system-versioned tables in SQL Server.
Can I undo a change made in Excel?
Yes.
• If you have not saved yet: use Excel’s normal Undo (Ctrl+Z), or click Refresh from Database to reload the saved data from SQL Server.
• If you have already saved: Change Tracking shows who changed each row and when. If the table uses SQL Server system-versioned tables, every earlier version of a row is kept, so the previous value can be restored.
Do I need coding knowledge to use SQL Spreads?
SQL Spreads does not require any coding to create data management solutions. For creating more advanced filters, you can use basic SQL queries.
