System requirements

Operating system:
A Windows PC running Windows 11 (or Windows 10), 32-bit or 64-bit.
SQL Spreads can also be installed and used in Remote Desktop Services (RDS) or Citrix environments. -
Microsoft Excel:
The desktop version of Microsoft Excel, including Microsoft 365 (desktop apps) or Excel 2024, Excel 2019, Excel 2016, Excel 2013, or Excel 2010.
Both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Excel are supported.
Supported databases
SQL Server
SQL Spreads supports Microsoft SQL Server, on-premises or Azure SQL, from SQL Server 2025 back to SQL Server 2008, and all editions from Express or higher.
Supported authentication methods:
- Windows Authentication
- SQL Server Authentication
- Azure AD Authentication (including MFA)
Snowflake
SQL Spreads 8.0 beta with support for Snowflake is available on request.
PostgreSQL
Support for PostgreSQL will be available soon.
Prerequisites
When installing SQL Spreads, a check will be made that the prerequisites are installed. If the prerequisites are not installed, the installer will download and install them.
In older versions of Office, the VSTO 2010 Runtime which is a free extension to Microsoft Office may need to be installed separately.
