Hide a filtered column from the spreadsheet

When you use a Tree or Cell parameter filter, you can hide the database columns that are used in the filter from the Excel table:
When you hide those columns, the inserted values will always be taken from a selected Tree Filter item or a cell value.
In the example below we use a Tree filter, but the process is the same for filtering on a cell value.
1. Add a row filter in the SQL Spreads Designer
After you have created your Tree filter you will have to add a Custom SQL Filter in the Designer to apply the Tree filter selection to the data loaded from SQL Server:
To quickly insert a Tree Filter parameter or a Cell parameter, click the Insert button above the filter text area:
2. Specify which Tree Filter that holds the columns value
Before hiding the column, you must specify which Tree filter that holds the selected value for that column. To do that, go to the Columns tab in the SQL Spreads Designer and click the small cog on the right side of the column's row:
Click the Insert button above the Parameter to use as value for this column field...
... and select the Tree Filter value to use for this column:
3. Hide the column
You can now hide the column by unchecking the Show checkbox in the SQL Spreads Designer:
