# Welcome to SQL Spreads Knowledge Base

> [!NOTE]
> **New in SQL Spreads 8.0:** You can now use SQL Spreads to update and manage data in **PostgreSQL**, **Snowflake**, **Databricks**, and **Microsoft Fabric** — in addition to SQL Server and Azure SQL.
>
> Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric require the **paid Cloud Data Platforms Add-on**. [Learn more about our supported databases](/docs/supported-databases).

### Intro

SQL Spreads is a lightweight Data Management solution for SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.

With the use of Excel as the front-end for managing the data in your database, users can get up and running in minutes.

Built-in Data validation, [Drop-Down lists with key lookups](/docs/replace-key-values-with-texts), [conflict detection](/docs/track-changes#conflict-detection), and [change tracking](/docs/track-changes) guarantee your corporation's data quality.

A Designer sets up each Excel document, and users in the Data Editor role update the data with the setup locked. See [The Designer and Data Editor roles](/docs/understanding-designer-and-data-editor-mode).

This knowledge base will help you to get started and learn all the details about how to create your data management solution using SQL Spreads.
